Arsenal fans et al.

Arsenal fans (i.e. Patrick) can sleep soundly for the time being.  Striker Thierry Henry has reaffirmed his commitment to the team after Barcelona demonstrated interest in acquiring the player.
An aside: these homoerotic, narcissistic comments by Barcelona’s star player Ronaldinho regarding Henry are worth noting.
The issue of homophobia in professional sport is fascinating because of all the innuendo, denial and just plain ignorance.
Since I am about to head to the mall and pick up some books, I don’t want to get into a rant.  If you want to consider this issue further, check out the many articles at Outsports which address this topic.

Right now I am reading James Frey’s autobiography, A Million Little Pieces which details his recovery from drug addiction.  My mom recommended it to me, and at first I was skeptical because I think the theme is a bit played out, but when I got to my parents’ house for Christmas I had nothing to read, so I thought, “what the hell.”  So far, it’s rather graphic and disturbing, and the writing style is refreshing.  It hasn’t veered too far from what I expected, but I am not that far in yet, so I guess we’ll see.

I am plan on picking up a few biographies while I am at the mall.  I found one on Sir Isaac Newton that seemed a good read and another of Alexander Hamilton thicker than a bible and in miniscule type.
I love long books since I spend most of my free time reading.
I am also going to pick up something on html since if I am going to take this blogging thing seriously I want to do it right.
So far, any changes you see from the original template (such as adding links) were made solely through my intuitive understanding of the way code works, and while it is nothing astounding, I am proud of my one day of progress so far.

My God!

I am sitting here enjoying the SpikeTV Bond Marathon and my Brother has just informed me that the famous Nun Bun has been stolen. The spirit of Christmas has truly been lost.

Christmas 2005

Here is a picture of me with my family in front of the tree. For some reason, I ended up centerstage. This is a really bad attempt at getting a picture of the family before we all run off to our various corners of the country. And for all of you who doubted, I really do have two brothers and a mom and dad, and was not spontaneously generated from outta nowhere.

Say My Name...

Okay, so for those of you who are wondering about the origin of my Name, it's my sexy Brazilian Name.
Decumanus refers to the East-West Axis that ran through Roman settlements.
Cardo, of course, refers to the major North-South Axis.

So yes, I have spent way too many hours chained to a desk using a mayline and graphite sharpener, can wield an exacto with the skill of a neurosurgeon and have developed an unconscious knowledge of the pressure to output ratio of a large bottle of Sobo.

Art Schmart

Perusing the Village Voice, I couldn't help but take notice of Jerry Saltz's article on the New Cacophony. Basically, though, I am using this to learn how to put Links directly into a Posting.
